Biography:
Jean Palutikof is Director of the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF), and Professor at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Queensland. She has worked throughout her career on climate change impacts and adaptation, seeking to understand the vulnerabilities of human societies and ecosystems to climate change, and how we can successfully respond to the challenge. She has been Lead Author and Review Editor for the second, third and fifth assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and was proud to attend the ceremony in Oslo at which the IPCC received the Nobel Peace prize.
