Rob Wilby is Professor of Hydroclimatic Modelling at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and a leading researcher on climate variability and change in relation to the management of freshwater environments.

This seminar introduces some of his research findings relating to the challenges facing Australian policy makers in management of flood risk in a variable climate, with particular emphasis on recent flood events in Victoria and Queensland. His conclusions are based on a detailed understanding of climate science, scientific modeling and an appreciation of the information needs of high level decision makers.
